Marriage is such a mysterious thing when you really think about it.

When I was younger, I believed that if two people loved each other, marriage would naturally follow. I thought love alone could carry a relationship through anything.

But after seeing so many different lives, relationships, and journeys unfold, I’ve come to realize that marriage isn’t determined by love alone.

Timing matters.

And who you choose matters.

When those two things align, life has a way of moving forward naturally.

The truth is, it’s easy to compare ourselves to others.

We see friends getting married, starting families, or stepping into new chapters of life, and sometimes it can feel as though we’re falling behind.

But life was never meant to follow the same timeline for everyone.

Getting married earlier doesn’t guarantee happiness.

Being married doesn’t automatically bring peace.

And not being married certainly doesn’t mean a person is incomplete.

That’s why I believe the real question isn’t, “When will I get married?”

The real question is, “What kind of life do I truly want to create?”

And sometimes, there are relationships that challenge us in unexpected ways.

You care deeply about someone.

You don’t want to walk away.

Yet when you think about the future, something doesn’t feel settled.

You struggle to picture the road ahead together.

In those moments, it may be worth asking yourself:

Am I truly happy?

Am I honoring my own needs?

Am I treating myself with the same love and care that I so freely give to others?

Because marriage isn’t the destination.

It’s a partnership.

It’s choosing someone you can grow with, build with, and walk through life with.

Someone who brings a sense of peace, trust, and stability when you think about the future.

Life doesn’t always unfold the way we expect.

Some relationships don’t become what we hoped they would be.

Some doors close despite our best efforts to keep them open.

But often, with time, we realize that even the experiences that broke our hearts were shaping us into who we were meant to become.

That’s why I don’t believe there’s a reason to rush.

Marriage has its timing.

Choosing the right person matters.

But before either of those things, there is something even more important:

Learning how to value yourself.

Learning how to trust yourself.

Learning how to build a life that feels meaningful to you.

Because in the end, happiness isn’t something another person gives us.

It’s something we cultivate within ourselves and then choose to share.

So if the future feels uncertain right now, be gentle with yourself.

The chapter you’re living today is not the whole story.

Life is often far more expansive, and far more beautiful, than we can see in the moment. ✨🌹
