The way men perceive marriage and the way women perceive marriage are often fundamentally different, even though they are speaking about the same thing.

Women often view marriage through their emotions in the present. They think about whether they can envision a future with someone, whether they feel secure, and whether they wish to build a life together.

Men, on the other hand, often view marriage through the lens of future responsibility. They may think about whether they are financially prepared, whether they have established stability in their lives, and whether they are capable of carrying the responsibilities that marriage requires.

As a result, a woman may wonder,

“If he loves me, why doesn’t he marry me?”

While a man may think,

“I love her, but I am not yet in a position to marry.”

The difference is not necessarily one of emotion.

It is often a difference in the way time itself is perceived.

Many misunderstandings in relationships may arise not from a lack of feelings, but from a discrepancy in temporal perspective.

And this concept of time is deeply connected to the phenomenon of encounters as well.

Many people seek a destined encounter.

However, an encounter is an extraordinarily delicate phenomenon.

If one person had left home one minute earlier.

If someone had boarded a different train.

If a person had crossed a street ten seconds sooner.

If someone had chosen a route just one hundred meters away.

That encounter might never have occurred.

What we call coincidence may simply be the moment at which countless coordinates of time and space happen to align.

An encounter occurs only when both time and place converge at the same point.

For this reason, I do not believe destiny is a single predetermined line.

Rather, destiny may be better understood as a structure composed of countless possibilities.

There are futures that were never chosen.

There are encounters that almost happened.

There are lives that came very close to intersecting, yet never did.

And still, among those countless possibilities, two people happened to cross paths.

That fact alone may carry meaning.

When people speak about love, they often focus on what is happening in the present.

“There has been no contact.”

“We have not met.”

“Nothing is moving forward.”

However, every person possesses their own time.

There is a time for preparation.

A time for growth.

A time for understanding.

And a time for decision.

Those times do not always progress at the same speed.

Two lives that appear to be moving separately today may eventually converge at a later point in time.

And only then do people sometimes realize:

“That event was leading me here.”

“That delay had a purpose.”

“That detour was necessary.”

Love, marriage, and human encounters may all exist within a structure of time that cannot be fully understood from the perspective of the present moment alone.

Therefore, perhaps the most important question is not simply what is happening now.

The deeper question may be whether two lives are still moving toward the same point within time itself.
