Social media is funny sometimes.

One message can make your whole day.

No message at all can leave you wondering if something changed.

The hard part is… you usually have no idea what’s happening on the other side of the screen.

Maybe they’re buried in work.

Maybe they’ve had one of those days where they’re just mentally drained.

Maybe they’ve started typing a reply a few times and deleted it every single time because nothing sounded right.

Some people care enough that they actually overthink what they want to say.

So judging someone’s feelings by how fast they reply just doesn’t work.

A quick reply doesn’t necessarily mean they care more.

A slow reply doesn’t necessarily mean they care less.

We’re only seeing a tiny piece of the story.

We don’t see what kind of day they’ve had, what’s going on in their life, or what they’re carrying around that they haven’t told anyone about.

When we don’t have answers, our minds naturally start making up stories.

“They must not like me anymore.”

“I guess it’s over.”

We’ve all been there.

But those thoughts aren’t always reality.

Sometimes they’re just our fears trying to explain something we simply don’t have enough information to understand.

Before you let one message change the way you see someone, think about the bigger picture.

Think about who they’ve been, not just what they texted today.

Think about everything you’ve shared, not just one conversation.

Social media makes it easy to stay connected.

It doesn’t make it easy to understand someone’s heart.

There’s a real person on the other side of every screen.

A person with good days, bad days, worries, responsibilities, and feelings that don’t always fit into a text message.

So don’t let one reply decide the future of a relationship.

Sometimes the strongest feelings are the hardest ones to put into words.
